YES! As I type this we are well on our way, literally, to the “dry lagoon”; Laguna Seca, for three days of racing fun with CSRG. As of right now, we have 505 of the 935 mile drive left to go, after a 6:00 AM start from Seattle.
I’m “pinch me” excited to drive this famed track, and equally excited to be back in my #12 Bugeye Sprite, after driving a loaner car (THANK YOU, Stephen) in Spokane.
It sounds like cell service might be marginal at the track; we may not be able to live-stream, but as usual, if we can’t it means the in-car videos will be in 4k instead of 1080p.
The schedule is below…it’s a bit lighter on track time than I hoped, but we do get ‘mechanical picnics’ on Saturday and Sunday, where I can can friends and crew out for 80% hot laps.
Like Spokane two weeks ago, this is my first time racing here, so it will be slow and cautious during practice, especially through the famed Corkscrew turn (8/8a) and the lesser known but reportedly more devious “Rainey Curve” (9).
The weekend will also feature the second Sprite Midget Challenge race of the year, this time on a split grid.
