PNW Historics 2024 Preview

June 28-30 at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington.

As of June 9, we have a record 14 (Update: 15 as of June 20) Sprites and Midgets registered to race in our Sprite-Midget feature race. This race is scheduled to run at 5:05 PM on Saturday, with an exciting Le Mans inspired start near the front straight.

It’s been a quiet period with the race car since Spring Sprints. I’ve made a few small changes, including cutting an elbow pocket in the driver’s door, adding a functional throttle pedal arm stop, raising the exhaust a bit after finding wear on the muffler, rotating the fuel pressure gauge to make it easier to see, and and oil and filter change. I have a few more things I’m planning to do, including testing metering needles with a different profile.

June 20 update: I also switched from AAU to AAA carb needles, installed the smaller 35AH AGM battery installed (at least 15 pounds lighter), adjusted the throttle pedal, installed a new bonnet seal, and extended the throttle return spring bar.

I have one more weekend so will refine a few more things, but I WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING MAJOR ON THE CAR WHEN IT’S ALL READY TO GO. I WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING MAJOR ON THE CAR WHEN IT’S ALL READY TO GO. I WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING MAJOR ON THE CAR WHEN IT’S ALL READY TO GO.

Oh, and it got a nice wash.

Here is the updated schedule:

The Sprite-Midget Challenge race will be at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 29.
